For the last several years, Scott, a decorated Vietnam vet, with his wife Vickie, a special ed teacher, at his side, has courageously fought stage 3 pancreatic cancer, stage 3 liver disease and hepatic encephalopathy. Vickie was the first face Scott saw when he woke from his “drug-induced naps in the hospital” as well as the “last face he saw when he went to sleep”. You see, being a caretaker is second nature to this gentle woman. The years of surgeries, chemo, doctors’ appointments and physical therapy had taken its toll. She needed a shot of rejuvenation and that is where CaringOn stepped in.
Vickie is a die-hard Broncos fan while Scott loves his Las Vegas Raiders. Through the help of the Broncos organization, CaringOn was able to help Scott thank Vickie for all she has done by gifting them tickets to a Broncos v Raiders football game. It was a beautiful day and the Broncos got the win 34-18. Would love to say CaringOn had a hand in that, but we will happily give the credit to the Broncos QB Bo Nix!
