Jimmy Gluck is a 52-year-old construction worker who was at Ground Zero on 9/11. He was one of the brave “first responders” who rebuilt New York after 9/11 and suffered debilitating lung disease because of it. In 2018 he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and received a double lung transplant in 2019. He has been fighting complications ever since and has been hospitalized 8 to 10 times.
He wrote to CaringOn:
“My wife Barbara has been taking care of me approximately 18 months pre-transplant and approximately 18 months post transplant. At the same time she has been taking care of my three children managing our household with everyday activities and working full-time also during the Covid Pandemic. I would not be alive if it wasn’t for the most awesome person I’ve ever known in my life, my wife Barbara.”
CaringOn gifted Jimmy and Barbara with two VIP tickets to see the Miami Dolphins play their beloved New York Giants in Miami and have a weekend of fun to relax as a couple and honor Jimmy’s heroic work and Barbara’s precious caregiving.
