From Amanda to Tom Raymond

Amanda Raymond, a breast cancer survivor, wanted to thank her husband Tom for taking care of their 13-year-old daughter while she was receiving treatment three hours away. She turned to CaringOn to arrange great seats at Fenway Park in Boston so Tom could see his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox, try to break their 15-game winning streak against the Baltimore Orioles.

According to Amanda:  “There truly aren’t enough words to express the depth of what Tom did for our family during my cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. He was more than a caregiver—he was a godsend. While I had to live three hours away to receive treatment, Tom became the full-time parent overnight.

At the very same time, my father passed away. Tom took on the enormous task of selling my dad’s house and clearing out decades of belongings—another weight I couldn’t carry. Through all of this, he never once complained. He simply showed up, over and over, with love, steadiness, and strength. He held our family together when everything felt like it was falling apart. We couldn’t have made it through without him.”
